James Alderfer, LCSW
Kimberton, PA
(484) 525-0181

In my private practice I schedule tele-health out-of-network visits with individuals and couples living in PA or DE, struggling with unpleasant thoughts, feelings, memories, or behaviors that may be getting in the way of a healthy sense of self and/or meaningful relationships. I have adopted an integrative therapeutic approach which relies primarily on gestalt experiential interventions aided by the evidence-based principles of acceptance & commitment therapy. I am open to clients wanting either face-to-face or tele-health visits and relying on insurance at Psychology & Counseling Associates, PC, in Pottstown PA.

Intissar Ben Halim

King of Prussia, PA 19406
No insurance accepted.

I approach the therapeutic relationship with a deep conviction and trust in the process. I deeply engage and connect with clients on a heart, mind, and gut level, rather than through the lens of a diagnosis or label they may have acquired along the way. I believe that each person is their own expert. Cultivating better contact with oneself, and learning to be more compassionate and supportive towards self is foundational for the therapeutic process I hold and facilitate. I enjoy working with diversity from all social locations.

Jan Blumenthal, M.Ed, LPC
289 Sugartown Road
Wayne, PA 19087
Child Play Therapy

As a Gestalt play therapist, I provide theoretical and practical techniques for understanding and practicing this approach to work with children and adolescents. I use a lot of creative media, like clay, drawing, puppets and music. Behind that, the basis of my work is the Gestalt therapy theory. I use the empty chair to let children express their emotions. It is amazing to watch them go with that; so much expression, anger and feelings and projections. Three years of intensive Gestalttraining has enabled me to grow leaps and bounds not only as a therapist but in my personal life as well.

Nancy Boxer
525 West Chester Pike, Suite 311B
Havertown, PA 19083

I do a lot of work with anxiety, including stress management, PTSD, fears and phobias. In addition to psychotherapy I have been trained as a clinical hypnotherapist, which is a great additional tool for anxiety, depression, fears and phobias as well as for personal growth experiences. No insurance accepted – but can provide paid-in-full invoices to submit for insurance reimbursement.

Jay Burkholder
311 Sumneytown Pike
North Wales, Pa

I use Motivational Interviewing to focus on each person’s strengths as a resource for the changes they want to make. Using Gestalt, I facilitate healing experiences that develop a different way for a person to be with themselves and the world. I have worked extensively with children, youth and parents addressing issues of depression, anxiety and trauma. Please contact me if you are seeking a supportive and compassionate therapeutic relationship. With reflection, insight and compassion, I offer a safe space to help you heal and enhance your relationship with yourself and with others.

Ellen Gayda

Hi, I’m Ellen Gayda, a longtime alum of Pa. Gestalt Center and founder of a body psychotherapy BodyWord®. I have been in the holistic arts for fifty years with an emphasis on health and healing as a creative process. BodyWord supports developing deep trust in one’s body wisdom, healing the unresolved narratives held somatically in the body and the capacity to claim one’s personal truth through a felt experience of embodied meaning and inhabited speech.

My therapeutic practice extends to clients exploring creative breakthroughs, healing touch to support physical health as wells as a healthy ANS response to stress, anxiety, somatic and symptomatic conditions and emotional fragilities. I am an intuitive healer with a strong spiritual impulse so I offer a perspective that is helpful to those in existential crisis.  For more information please visit:

My particular areas of interest include midlife change from divorce to widowhood, and the many changes in between; substance abuse and codependency recovery; trauma; working with polarities, relationships, and the inner child; and the power of culture on the individual. I hold bachelor and master degrees in sociology, have thirty-plus years in 12-Step recovery programs, certification and practice as a Gestalt psychotherapist, EMDR basic training, and a longstanding affinity for Buddhist practices. All inform my therapy.

We all have polarities, parts of us at odds with other parts. I can be gracious and opinionated, generous and impatient; I’ve been a failure and a success, a victim and a survivor. Can you relate? I have interest in exploring your polarities. If you have an interest, I hope you’ll call and set up an appointment today. I offer video counseling. Sliding scale is available.

My approach to therapy is grounded in neuroscience research that suggests that we can actually heal our brains, rather than just learn how to cope. I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Gestalt Therapy. I work with adult individuals dealing with a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, over-eating, and relationship issues. In addition, I have also worked in a trauma/burn intensive care unit and have a specific interest in helping people facing medical issues, trauma, body image/disfigurement, loss, transition stress and healthcare workers.
