Free Contemporary Gestalt Demonstration
March 22, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
With Dori Middleman, MD and Mark Putnam, MD
Resistance to Contact
I was giving a talk to a small group of people about Mariah Fenton Gladis, the creator of our Center, and her insistence on the importance of making authentic contact in the world. Somehow I mentioned that if you were locked in a closet for a week as a child you may end up not trusting people. Your mistrust probably served you then; it was protective and to some degree comforting. However, it was a resistance to contact. Used now, it may stand in the way of you making authentic contact with friends, loved ones and family, and maybe even yourself. The lesson is: what served you then, may not serve you now. – Ron Gladis
A Gestalt Demonstration welcomes you to experience our Center’s special blend of Gestalt with a discussion of the Awareness and Contact Cycle and its applicability to clinical practice and daily life. And come meet our staff: Dori Middleman, MD and Mark Putnam, MD. They will share their expert knowledge openly with a Q & A discussion.
CEU INFORMATION:
The Pennsylvania Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors has approved this workshop for 2.5 contact hours of continuing education toward licensure renewal.
